A mobile application is a software designed for mobile and tablet devices. The term "app" is an abbreviation of the word "application" in the English language and tends to be used frequently to refer to a computer application for mobile or tablet devices. However, it is important to note that the word “app” can also refer to a web app, although its use is outside of computing environments and is less common.
In the origins of applications, some people trace them back to the first mobiles that appeared in the 90s, the truth is that the term "app" began to be used in 2008 with the first launch of the App Store of the company Apple and, secondly, with the launch of Android Market known today as Google Play.
It is from then on that the term “app” begins to become popular, especially for mobile devices and tablets. The app market has boomed in recent years, with daily downloads of millions of apps around the world. Nowadays people can find varieties and different types of applications, from video games to leisure, sports, among others.
Currently the most used and famous applications in the world are Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube, Amazon, Google maps, Instagram, Telegram and Gmail. And, among the most renowned and important operating systems are Android (with more than 80% of the market), IOS (with more than 10% of the market), Windows Phone, BlackBerry, Symbian, Firefox O.S and Ubuntu Touch.
Today, thanks to smart devices that people use daily, they may perform more complex financial and investments (investimentos)operations. These applications are usually connected to pages to invest in the stock market (mercado de ações) and, thus, have a greater follow-up of personal efforts.
With these available tools it is possible to better understand the financial market for depositing funds, buying and selling shares, among other operations. The application "Guru" is an investment app (app de investimento) in a beta version, which provides people with shares in the stock market in real-time, allows them to discover new investments and much more.
Currently, the Guru app does not provide services in the field of investment, intermediation and advice or recommendations on the stock market, therefore, it is not subject to regulations of the securities commission and the Central Bank of Brazil. All this is because the application is in its beta version, it is being released to the public as a test.
However, if the application exercises some of the services in the investment field, it will do so in strict accordance with the laws and regulations and will have all the necessary permits and regulatory authorizations obtained.
This application focuses on the Bovespa stock index, made up of the 50 companies that are mostly listed on the Sao Paulo stock exchange. It is the most important index in Brazil and serves as an indicator of the state of its economy. The index was created in 1968 with a base value of 100 points.
