Flowers, also known as bloom or blossom, are that variety of plant parts that have the power of conveying emotions. No matter what you feel, from happiness to sorrow, from gratitude to condolences, there is no feeling in this world that flowers cannot express. It makes them one of the most prestigious living creature to ever exist.

What history says about the importance of flowers?

Each flower has had its own significance throughout history, for people of different civilizations all throughout the evolution of mankind. Sometimes, the same flower may contain two different meanings for people of two different communities and backgrounds.

According to sources, the first usage of flowers to express feelings was seen in ancient Egypt, Greece and by the people of the Roman empire. In those times, it was believed that sending a flower along with your handwritten letter for someone meant that the letter was not intended for any kind of hatred or disgust. It was a symbol of peace and harmony and signified that the sender of that letter does not contain any kind of hard feelings for the receiver while writing the letter.

Even today, while sending handwritten letters, people prefer to attach fresh flowers to it to make it look attractive and send a message of love, peace and harmony for the receiver.

•    Sadness and sorrow: When a person dies, he is covered with white coloured roses, white lilies, orchids and carnations as they symbolise the feelings of sympathy, innocence integrity and sincerity.

But one fact that stands firm and strong is that they were used by our ancestors and surely, they will continue to be used by our coming generations. So, if you had a fight with your girlfriend are your parents, do not delay and visit the nearest flower shop because you never know what tomorrow may bring.
