A guide for first time parents

Being a woman, you have gone through pregnancy, labor pain, and delivery. Now you will be happy to see your newborn in your hands. Being a parent for the first time you may not have any idea how to take care of your baby and how to bring up the child. This article is going to be useful and will explain to you in handling your newborn.
Handling a newborn
Wash your hands – newborns can be easily infected with germs or bacteria so you need to wash your hands using sanitizer and handle the baby.
Support your baby’s head and neck – you need to keep your hand under the baby’s neck and carry the child.
Never shake your baby – people use to shake the baby and will try to stop their crying or will make them laugh. But this is very dangerous that this may cause internal bleeding in the brain and will result in major issues.
Bonding & soothing
This is what your child almost needs from you. This will give a physical connection and emotional attachment to you. Begin bonding by cradling your baby. You can also give some infant massage to your child. Swaddling is also another good form of bonding with the child. It not only keeps their body warm but also will give them some sense of security.
All about diapering
You may use either disposable diapers or cloth for your baby. It is for sure that the little one will dirty the diaper at least 10 times per day. Every time you need to remove and use a new one and make sure that your baby is not wet. Before you diaper your baby you need to have all the accessories ready. A diaper rash is a common concern. We need to use warm water to wash the affected area and should apply the cream over it.
Bathing
This is a very difficult process and initially, you may need some help from others. First, start with a sponge bath. After that, you can bath 2 to 3 times a week and that will be enough. Also do not use cold water for one year. Always use hot water. After taking bath make sure you wear him a comfortable dress. You can order for tiny baby clothes and wear them.
Feeding
Breastfeeding is suggested for children for a minimum 6 to 12 months. Newborn needs to be fed every 2 to 3 hours. You need to monitor if your baby is getting enough to eat. Allow your baby to burp after getting fed. If it is not burping try changing positions and make it burp.
